While we are disappointed that we will not be performing for you this year due to the Grasshopper fire, we are encouraged to see the community come together for all the kids in 4H. The heart and hard work that 4H teaches builds our community for future generations. Thank you to all the 4H leaders for all your hard work ❤️
Not the fair we planned, but the one we’ll remember.
After a wild 24 hours, we are excited to announce that the Wasco County 4-H & FFA Fair is moving to the Hood River County Fairgrounds!
This wasn’t the plan - but our youth have worked all year for this, and we weren’t willing to take away their opportunity to finish what they started. 💚
Behind the scenes, there has been an incredible amount of work happening to make this possible. Fair superintendents, 4-H staff, and the Wasco County Youth Livestock Auction Board met immediately following the Fair Board’s decision to start figuring out a path forward. Today, Shawn and Leah put more than 200 miles on the road, looking at venues and working through what would actually work for our animals, exhibitors, families, and shows. There have been countless phone calls, texts, meetings, logistics, and last-minute problem-solving along the way.
And the response from our communities has been incredible.
A HUGE thank you to every fairground, facility, county commissioner, fair board, volunteer, and community member who offered to help us find a place to land. The outpouring of support has been absolutely overwhelming. We are incredibly grateful for every phone call, offer, idea, open gate, and helping hand.
And to the Hood River County Fair Board, fairgrounds staff, volunteers, Wasco County fair superintendents, 4-H staff, and Wasco County Youth Livestock Auction Board, and Wasco County Fair Board - thank you for helping us turn an incredibly difficult situation into an opportunity for our kids.

This will be a 4-H & FFA event only - Open Class livestock will not be part of this event.
4-H families: Check your email for the full details. There are a LOT of moving pieces, and we are working through the details as quickly as possible.
To everyone who has supported us, offered a place, made a call, hauled something, or simply asked, “What can we do?” - thank you. This is what community looks like.
