One last summer hurrah.

I know, I know, the kids are already back in school. But there's still at least a month of summer weather ahead so you might as well soak it up, and DFW makes it easy.

A few local favorites worth the trip: let the kids operate real construction equipment at Dig World in Grapevine, take on the high-tech game rooms at Activate in Southlake, or check out the brand-new Universal Kids Resort in Frisco (made just for the little ones). For the climbers and adventurers, Fritz's Adventure in The Colony has ropes courses and a 48-foot wall, and Slick City's indoor slides are a hit in Colleyville and Arlington. Feeling ambitious? Waco Surf and its mile-long lazy river is a perfect day trip or overnight, about 90 minutes out
