Silvermoon Theatre Silvermoon Theatre is a place for a fun and excellent community theatre experience in the Texarkana area! It is a community theatre for "kids" of all ages.

Silvermoon Theatre (formerly Silvermoon Children's Theatre) operates out of the Historic Silvermoon on Broad in downtown Texarkana. We typically do at least 3 MainStage shows a year, as well as offer camps in the summer and classes in the fall and spring semesters. Silvermoon Theatre is the brain child of Meredith Farren and Susannah Linnett, daughters of Silvermoon proprietors, Josh & Diana Morriss. They direct and guide Silvermoon Theatre. Farren, Graduate of Harding University with a BA in interior design, is the technical design director or Company Manager Plus and main organizational guru. Linnett, graduate of Baylor University with a BFA in Theatre Performance, is our Executive Director. "We are so excited to offer families this opportunity. We strive to produce fun & excellent theatre. The Silvermoon is a beautifully restored, intimate space. It's a great place to learn how to be onstage and a pleasant place to see theatre!" Linnett explains. SCT plans to cast area children and adults in all of their shows. Watch for upcoming announcements about auditions. You will want to be a part of this theatre company and all are encouraged to participate on stage and off! Corporate Sponsor packages and memberships are available. Have you read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe?

We asked our Silvermoon cast if they’ve read—or are reading—this beloved story and what their favorite parts are! From stepping through the wardrobe to discovering the magic of Narnia, there’s so much to love about this adventure.

Now it’s YOUR turn!

👇 Tell us in the comments: What’s YOUR favorite part of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe? Is it a character, a magical moment, a big surprise, or a scene that has always stuck with you?

And if you haven’t read it yet (or it’s been a while!), this is your invitation to join our Narnia Reading Challenge!

We want to encourage kids to read or reread the book before coming to experience the magic LIVE on the Silvermoon stage!

✨ Read the story.
✨ Fall in love with Narnia.
✨ Then come see it come to life!

📩 Want to participate? Email [email protected] to get your child on the list for FREE tickets to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!

⏰ The deadline to join the list is November 5, and free tickets are limited, so don’t wait!

We asked our The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe cast, “Would you rather be at theatre or at home?” And that last answer… followed by the RUN! 💀🤣 (Maybe when we bring out the Turkish Delight “Edmund” will change his tune!)

And here’s something I love: this is one of several videos directed and produced by our very own Silvermoon tech crew! 🎬 They’re making magic happen both behind the scenes and on camera.

Give our tech crew some love!

“Do you like the reason that you’re tired?” ❤️

After a long rehearsal and an entire day of our The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe costume parade, we can tell you that we absolutely do.

Our feet are tired. Our brains are tired. Our to-do lists are probably still making more to-do lists. 😂

But today was spent watching costumes come together, seeing the pieces of Narnia take shape, and being surrounded by people who are pouring their time, talent, creativity, and hearts into making something special.

There are a thousand little details that go into bringing a show to life, and some days we feel every single one of them.

But when we stop and ask ourselves if we like the reason we’re tired?

Absolutely.

We’ll sleep eventually. ❤️

We asked our cast: “Give me ONE word to describe your character!”

Their answers say it all! 😂

Now it’s YOUR turn! Drop one word in the comments to describe the character you’re most excited to see come to life on stage!

From a pile of puzzle pieces to the King of Narnia! 🦁

This has been such a process of trial, error, learning, and a whole lot of figuring things out as we go. But today, we finally get to see Aslan take shape!

And honestly? I might have been just as excited as you are about to see how this turned out. 😂

He’s not finished yet, but seeing all those pieces come together for the first time was a pretty exciting moment. And of course, a king deserves a proper fanfare!

Stay tuned as we keep bringing Aslan to life for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Silvermoon Theatre. There’s still more work to do before he’s ready for Narnia!

The little Aslan was practice… now it’s time to go BIG! 🦁

To make a larger Aslan, I needed larger pattern pieces, so I figured out how to turn my one-page pattern into four pages using the copier and printer settings. Then came the taping, rough cutting, and transferring everything onto chipboard.

Of course, some pieces needed larger chipboard than I had on hand, so off to Hobby Lobby I went! Apparently, building a lion requires a few supply runs along the way.

I can’t wait for you to see how this all comes together… and honestly, I can’t wait to see how it turns out either! 😂 Thanks for following along on this journey!

Remember the pattern can be found at Ultimate Paper Mache website.

📅 Mark your calendars for November 19–22 and come see Aslan take the stage in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Silvermoon Theatre!
