Besides an emphasis on the dance curriculum, it is our goal that your child will develop coordination, carry him/herself with confidence, have fun, make friends, and develop an appreciation of the arts. She poured her heart and soul into building the studio for over 40 years. It is a daunting task, but I hope to honor her memory by keeping her legacy alive through the World of Dance. For those of
you who don't know me, I used to work at the dance studio when it was at its original location on Hulman Street. Growing up at the studio, I was always surrounded by the vibrant world of dance and music, and I learned valuable skills from my mother as she managed the business. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University, I moved to Texas where I worked for 27 years as an English teacher. I also taught dance for several years at Brazosport High School where I had the privilege of sharing my passion for dance with students of all ages and abilities. In my spare time, I danced and competed with a few clogging groups -- Brazosport Bluebonnet Coggers, Blue Streak, & Yellow Rose. I would like to continue the tradition of challenging students to push themselves and discover their potential. My dream would be for the World of Dance to continue to inspire and cultivate strong individuals and dancers. If you are a current student and would like to continue your dance journey with us, you will be able to register on March 17, 2025. New students will be accepted March 24, 2025. From the ashes of loss, I have found a new purpose and direction in life. And I know that my mother would be proud of her dance family for the way they have come together…the show must go on.
