Last night we had a message asking what the point of getting a ticket in advance to the show was. We wrote back and then this morning when we saw that that same person did buy their ticket early we decided it was worthy of sharing with others:

"Hi _______,
There are many reasons why it's a great idea to get advance tickets. We'll just go through a few.
We send ticket counts twice a week that get evaluated to determine not only our ability to promote (and sell) a show but it's an indication of the excitement level of a market. Our market is then compared with similar markets and gets rated. The agents and managers are informed of on sale dates, advertisement drops, media coverage etc. They know what the benchmark for ticket sales is for each of those points. So, tickets selling often and early is a good indication of high excitement. steady sales shows good marketing and so on. This is the number 1 reason for buying your ticket early. This is what booking agents look at when determining if they want to risk sending a larger name bands to a venue. It's about buzz.
Getting as many sold as early as possible lets the promoters know what they will have to do to promote the show as the date gets nearer.
It lets the venue know what staffing levels they need to have.
It lets the band know if there is a certainty that there will be a good crowd (Every band likes to say "We're playing a SOLD OUT show tonight).
It means less work at the door.
It means everybody can relax a bit :)
It means you get a discount for the full show. The benefits of the early ticket buys are worth giving a discount off the door price.

Do we want you to buy a ticket early? Yes.
Will it be beneficial for everyone? Yes
If you don't want to, that's ok too. But we do hope to see you at the show on Saturday because in the end it's all about the live music!

Whoa! Everybody loves limited edition, custom hand drawn CDs! Just one more reason to come to the show! Highland Reunion starts at 8!

Custom hand drawn hard copies of the South EP will be available at the show this Saturday in Terre Haute!! Limited Edition (only 40 made)! The 3 of us each took a stack and decided to create our own covers for them. Mine (Jon) are sharpie sketches of buildings taken from the old Terre Haute postcards.
