🎼 BACH’S MASS IN B-MINOR

On April 25, 2027, the Bach Ensemble at St. Thomas presents one of the greatest monuments of Western sacred music: J. S. Bach’s Mass in B-Minor, performed at the magnificent @ in downtown Cincinnati.

Composed near the end of Bach’s life, the Mass in B-Minor represents a summation of his musical and spiritual vision—a work of extraordinary scale, beauty, complexity, and profound emotional depth.

For this special performance, the Bach Ensemble Orchestra and Chorale come together to bring Bach’s monumental setting to life through historically informed performance.

One of the first cantatas Bach composed after arriving in Leipzig in 1723, Die Himmel erzählen die Ehre Gottes is a magnificent proclamation of faith, joy, and the glory of creation.

From its brilliant opening chorus to its intimate and deeply expressive movements, BWV 76 reveals Bach at the beginning of an extraordinary new chapter in his life.
