January Artist Opening in The Octagon Room at The Village Art Studios:
Artist: Durant Thompson, Professor of Art in Sculpture, The University of Mississippi
Exhibition Title: “A Turn of the Wheel”
Exhibition Dates: January 2nd - February 2nd, 2023
Where: The Village Arts Studios, Tequesta, FL
Reception: January 7th, 5-7pm

“A Turn of the Wheel” is an exhibition of work by Durant Thompson who is currently a Professor of Art in Sculpture at the University of Mississippi. The sculptures on display are a small retrospective of works created by Durant over the last fifteen years. His sculptural compositions are mixed-media, metal assemblages in nature that revolve around the form of the circle or wheel. Durant will also display several of his wood turned pieces that he created under the tutelage of local woodturner Bill Jones over the last ten years.
