A new country
And a new university
A step towards a dream
With beats in the heart
and eyes agleam

I move forward
One step at a time
One note, one rhyme
With each ray of sunshine

Taking my chances
New experiences
With uncertainty and shaking knees
Facing the circumstances
With strength And a smile on the face
And music with a banger bass

I don't know but Somehow
this shift hasn't been a surprise
It's like I had already envisioned this land and the skies
Overthought every detail
Anticipating everything that's gonna unveil
Like I've been part of some folktale

Or maybe it's the warmth and affection
of the people I've met
Who haven't let me feel homesick yet

But I think it will sink in with time
That I'm thousands of miles away
From family
and people I call mine

There will come a day
When these lights will hit different
The air will be heavier
And comfort won't be near
When the road ahead will be unclear
And this city, will feel peculiar
When reality would feel unreal

But I hope, when that day comes
I'm with people I can call my own
people who can make me feel at home

Sound 🔊
You look at me and you'd see
Someone standing tall with a smile on his face
Like everything's in place
Someone moving with such grace
Like there's no trace
of worry, or regret
Just solace

But
Who knows what's going on behind the scenes
Behind these staid emotions that now work like machines
Who notices that hollow feeling inside the chest
That constant overthinking brain that doesn't rest
Who sees the shivers
That run through the body when it fears
That constant self doubt
Which questions ones self
every moment in and out
Who notices the feet
That have become so heavy with fear
That fear of failure
Whenever something new comes near
The fear of an unknown path to a goal
Of not being in control
That fear of breaking when life takes a toll
Yeah, You wouldn't.
You wouldn't notice the eyes filled with hesitations
Afraid of not living up to the expectations
You wouldn't notice
The heart pounding
Or the pulse throbbing

Cause if you look at me, you'd still see
Someone standing tall with a smile on his face
Someone steering through life's baffling maze

I imbibed poetry for a reason,
As a taciturn,
I had unexpressed feelings in profusion.
All this time, I enjoyed the ideas flowing,
And I enjoyed the rhyming.
They were led by a purpose,
And the words felt surplus.
Living the moment,
led by the circumstances,
I kept writing,
Taking those chances,
And now, the world reads me through
The Unprecedented Experiences.
This has been dreamy.
