It’s a myth that you need to twist or turn your new piercing jewelry.
In fact, doing so can actually slow down the healing process.

The best thing you can do for a fresh piercing is leave the jewelry alone. Avoid touching, twisting, or moving it unnecessarily.

Simply keep the area clean and follow your aftercare instructions. The less irritation the piercing experiences, the faster and smoother it can heal.

1. Eat beforehand – Low blood sugar can make you dizzy.
2. Stay hydrated – Drink water before you come in.
3. Avoid alcohol – It thins your blood and can cause extra bleeding.
4. Wear comfy clothing – Make the area easy to access.
5. Don’t touch or twist it after – Let it heal peacefully.

After nearly 10 years working inside a traditional tattoo shop, I knew it was time to create something that truly reflected my vision.

I wanted a space dedicated entirely to piercings, private, intentional, and elevated. A studio where the experience felt just as beautiful as the jewelry itself. Luxury. Comfort. Precision.

With the help of my incredible PIC, Amber, we brought that vision to life and created Sparkle & Shine. From 2018 to 2020, we operated out of our private studio building something special and growing a community that believed in a higher standard for piercing.

When COVID shut down our private location, we didn’t quit. We pivoted.

We moved into my husband’s tattoo shop and rebuilt, designing the beautiful space we have now. Stronger. Wiser. More determined than ever.

Sparkle & Shine was built on passion, resilience, and the belief that piercings deserve their own spotlight.

And we’re just getting started. ✨
