To all the friends, supporters, and real driving force of The Dial Collective,
It is with heavy hearts to inform you that come April 30th we will be closing doors as a DIY space and ceasing to do shows under The Dial Collective banner. It was brought to our attention that unethical actions by one of our collective members have jeopardized the trust our community has placed in us and we take this very seriously. We are coming together to reassess our roles, restructure our leadership, and recall the values that first encouraged us to begin this journey which you’ve made so rewarding. With many collective members changing paths, whether in going to school, finding new jobs, or moving to new cities and taking up new responsibilities, the time to take stock of what this place can reasonably accomplish has finally come. There is no doubt of what it has given all of us. We’ve made countless memories and seen lasting friendships blossom during the past six years. Know that all the late nights, hectic show schedules and organizational hurdles we’ve jumped to keep this place standing will never be forgotten nor taken for granted. It is all of you who attended meetings, volunteered, took a stab at open mic, every band that has ever played the space, every artist who displayed their work, and every supporter who came out to our events that gave us a reason to push forward when it seemed like greater forces did not want us to succeed. Together we were able to do something amazing just by choosing to show up and take a chance. No matter where you go from here, if that means opening a space of your own or otherwise pursuing your creative passions, know that the various members of this collective will always be on your side. This isn’t the end for any of us as individuals, just a change in direction. Best wishes to everyone and remain as hopeful as we are for what the future will bring.
