Filmmaker Grants are open July 1 to 16 for docs in post-production. Awards run $3,000 to $6,000 and you can apply from anywhere in the world. If you’re early in your career and based in the U.S., you’re also eligible for our Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship.

Jim “BF” Bedford

Teacher, mentor, showman, projectionist, he was all that and so much more to all of us at Mountainfilm. He taught us the value of SHOW, and his lessons on how to run a film festival are still at the core of who we are.

It is hard to put into words the monumental impact that Jim “BF” Bedford had on Mountainfilm and the Telluride community. Jim served as Mountainfilm’s General Manager from 1984 to 1992, leaving an indelible mark on the festival.

He had a cheeky sense of humor, a wide grin and an effortless wit that made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him. Along with his longtime partner Luci Reeve, his contributions over the years were nothing short of legendary.

It was an honor to know you, Jim. You will be deeply missed.

The Evidence-Based Hope symposium, with Guest Director Cristina Mittermeier, had a packed house laughing, crying and walking out a little more hopeful than we walked in. Grateful doesn’t quite cover it.

Our Closing Picnic was full of smiles, cheers, and a few happy tears. We are endlessly grateful to have shared this weekend with such incredible filmmakers, guests, and community.
