In 1997, the festival name was changed to the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival after adding live music to the event. Over the past 19 years, the festival has grown from a one-day, three-hour beer festival hosting 1,000 people to a sold-out three-day music festival hosting 75,000 people. The success of our destination music festival is due in large part to its reputation as a well-run event that co
nsistently offers a line-up of artists with mass appeal. And, of course, the location – the festival is held in Telluride Town Park, one of the most spectacular outdoor venues in the country. Throughout its history, the festival has treated spectators to artists such as John Mayer, Lou Reed, James Brown, B.B. King, Blues Traveler, Buddy Guy, Keb Mo, Los Lonely Boys, The Allman Brothers Band, Al Green, Joe Cocker, Robert Randolph and the Black Crowes, to name a few. The Durango Blues Train is an exclusive musical event, while traveling on the Historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad’s coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive through the spectacular and breathtaking canyons of the San Juan National Forest. The event features six live blues bands performing throughout the train and a party environment that will guarantee an unforgettable experience. Telluride Blues and Brews is one of the most scenic and intimate music festivals in the country, a three-day celebration of music and microbrews held every September in the world-famous resort town of Telluride, Colorado, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The 23rd Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival takes place September 16-18, 2016.
