Did you know we’ve been serving the Tecumseh community as a bead shop for 20 years? I opened my first shop in 2006 in a 400-square-foot space, and over the years, it has grown into the business we are today! We’re more than a bead supply store—we’re a community of like-minded makers seeking high-quality materials and inspiration. We also carry handcrafted jewelry by artists with local ties. Customers often ask why I decided to expand the business to include minerals, fossils, and crystals. For the past eight years, I’ve been an active member of the LGMS Lapidary Society in Hartland, Michigan, where I’ve developed a love for collecting Michigan stones, fossils, minerals, and crystals. That’s where my love of crystals blossomed and inspired the shop I have today. Here’s a little about my history as a local business owner that you might not have known. Go Blue! David is busy making more gemstone bracelets with the smaller 6mm beads. Maxx is labeling our new ParaWire inventory and helping customers, while I'm trying to keep my distance from everyone. Saturdays are our busiest day of the week ☺️, and we’re thankful for that!

Tecumseh’s Appleumkin weekend was fantastic—a little crazy at times, but absolutely wonderful! Come walk through the shop with me. About 15 minutes before this video, it was overflowing with customers 🥰 We greatly appreciate you shopping with us last weekend. It was so much fun!

Sorry about my voice-I have what I'm officially calling "the crud." I’ve tested negative for everything, so that's what I'm calling it: the crud 😛
It probably has something to do with staying up too late for too many nights to get ready for the Appleumkin, which was FANTASTIC! Thank you to everyone who shopped with us last weekend-we had record sales!

Many people have asked if I can reopen on Mondays. I would love to be open seven days a week, but I realized that's not sustainable. I never really had a day off when I was open every day. As the owner, I am always responsible for my business, even with employees. I am grateful to have two amazing part-time staff members, but it still wasn't enough to cover all seven days. So, we are now closed on Mondays. Today, on my day off, I ran errands, needed to return my lease, and lease another vehicle. I let David help choose our next car; we initially planned to lease another Pacifica but ended up with a Jeep Hybrid that gets 37-39 mpg! If you're looking for a car, Scott Mattews at Williams Brothers Dundee Jeep Dundee, Michigan, is fantastic to work with—and, of course, they love David! We've been loyal customers for years, always having great experiences. Stay tuned for more David videos from this past weekend's festivities.

David is very excited about the Appleumkin Festival this weekend! He's been busy stringing gemstone beads for his bracelets. I assist by sizing, tying knots, and adding crimp covers—it's teamwork! One Proud Mama!

David has been working hard every day, stringing all kinds of gemstone bead bracelets in preparation for our exciting Fall Festival called Appleumkin in downtown Tecumseh, Michigan! It’s about a week away! We will have lots of new items throughout the shop, making it a great time to start your holiday shopping! I want to give a shout-out to Tammy, owner of Second Chance Consignment Boutique in Tecumseh, for the perfect table and stools for my shop—they are a great addition!

So proud of this guy!
We are busy getting ready for Tecumseh’s upcoming Appleumkin festival and holiday season.
Many followers know that David is Autistic and has learned to communicate verbally and understand simple concepts. He was born medically fragile, relying on a ventilator to breathe and a feeding tube for nutrition until age 6. I never thought he would learn to talk or communicate his needs verbally. As a child, he displayed behaviors that allowed me to guess what he needed—many times he became frustrated, causing self-injury. So I'm sharing to encourage you not to give up, it is worth the effort, keep pushing, teaching, encouraging them, and most of all love them for who they are🩷
