Thursday, October 15th! A free, family-friendly evening of live music, food, drinks, and good company awaits you in the heart of downtown Taylor, Texas with Austin’s Nossas Novas Nossas Novas! 6pm!

Led by vocalist Sonia McLaughlin, the band blends bossa nova, samba, Tropicália, jazz, rock and tropical rhythms into something that’s uniquely their own.

THE BASICS

FOOD: Food vendors will be set up around the park, and you’re welcome to bring a picnic dinner. BYO water and alcoholic beverages — no glass. Neighborhood Bottle Shoppe will also be on site serving up a great selection of adult beverages.

OK TO BRING: Coolers, picnic blankets, stadium cushions, and your four-legged friends. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash.

NOT OK: Glass containers.

PARKING: Free street parking is available on all city streets. The City Hall parking lot will also be available.

Music on Main is back Thursday, September 17th! Join us for a free, family-friendly evening of live music, food, drinks, and good company in the heart of downtown Taylor, Texas.

Yayo Castillo is a longtime Austin-area Tejano musician and bandleader whose work with Grupo Rumores has made him a recognizable figure in Central Texas Tejano music. Drawing from the rich traditions of Tejano, conjunto, and Mexican-American music, Castillo and Rumores have built a catalog that includes the albums Chiquilla Presumida and La Bailadora, along with songs such as “Nunca Es Suficiente,” “Te He Prometido,” and “Lagrimitas.”

Grupo Rumores’ music draws from the traditional Tejano sound that developed throughout South and Central Texas, combining Mexican musical traditions with the influences of conjunto, ranchera, and popular Tejano music. The group remains an active part of the region’s Tejano community and continues Yayo Castillo’s longstanding contribution to Texas Mexican-American music.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, pack a picnic, or grab dinner from one of our wonderful vendors. Here’s everything you need to know:

Yayo Castillo & Grupo Rumores are coming to Music on Main.

Taylor, Texas! We’re inviting you to beat the heat Saturday August 1st with a special performance by Sarah Sharp at the Black Sparrow Music Parlor! Sarah Sharp

Sarah Sharp is an Austin singer-songwriter, pianist, and jazz vocalist known for blending jazz with folk, Americana, and vintage pop influences. A multiple Austin Music Award winner, she first gained wide recognition as the frontwoman of the Jitterbug Vipers before launching a successful solo career. Her original songs have appeared in film, television, and international advertising campaigns, and her warm, expressive voice has made her a fixture of Austin’s live music scene, including a long-running residency at the Elephant Room.
