Self-taught mixed media artist Stephanie Crane:
"I create because I feel like I have to, I have always had a million ideas growing in my head that just have to get out somehow. As a child, I loved nothing more than to play with my mother's sewing scraps, and my father's woodworking scraps, building birdhouses and forts in the backyard. As I got older and experienced life's struggles and tragedies,

I began to see my art as therapy as well. Taking the old, discarded, broken pieces of yesterday and turning them into a dream or a hope for the future is therapeutic for me. My works tend to fluctuate between the childish fantasy world of toys and creatures, to the more mature, serious contemplation of time and spirit. I hope that sharing my works help others see things from a different perspective, and learn that using your own perspective on life is OK, and we're all in this together.

Busy week!!! Look at all these cuties!!! I love this job!!

πŸŒˆπŸŽ¨πŸ–Œ Posted by another face painter in one of our business groups. It is a good explaination of what we do so I nabbed it. (Edited for language and unneeded content by Amy Luck.) β€œFace Painting might seem like all unicorns and rainbows and sparkles but let me tell you there is (way) more to it behind the scenes: emails, voicemails, consultations, navigations, contracts, customer service, scheduling, billing, inventory/restock, advertising, marketing, social media sharing, practicing, researching, training, classes...Then on the job aspects like physically lifting and loading heavy cases of equipment: Directors chair, maybe table, signs, etc, trying to remember to pack everything. Occasionally creating new signs or choice boards based on the needs of each event... ENERGETICALLY being in crowds for hours or all day, on your feet, with possibly no food or bathroom breaks for hours, overhearing loud music, crying kids, or whatever hectic vibe might be going on... smiling and interacting, trying to make each kid and adult feel special and hear their requests, doing the actual artwork and not judging ... yourself when a zig shoulda zagged or whatever...trying to remember designs or make up new ones on the fly, repeating directions to each kid and trying to say it nicely for the tenth time...'look up here sweetie...look up at me...head up...HEY KID! UP HERE!! Lol.... all while bending, reaching, keeping a hand on the child to make sure they don't fall, fielding adults who don't understand proxemics, or want to ask you or the kid in the chair questions while all of this is going on...also keeping an eye on the line, and the clock, and your stuff on the table that is worth thousands of dollars, and some random kid is poking his fingers in it because some parents think we are there to babysit... listen I could go on...but let me tell you...it is A LOT... This isn't a complaint post. It is a reality check. When an artist/entertainer quotes you $100 an hour or more, know tha

Hello! My name is Stephanie and I have been Face Painting for over 10 years. I was professionally trained at Walt Disney World (Orlando Florida), where I worked full time perfecting the technique for over a year, and I have been an independent artist ever since. Each face takes 5 minutes or less for me to complete, and I can paint nearly any subject asked of me. I am happy to offer themed face selections for themed parties or events. I have worked hard to develop a great reputation based on my experience, professionalism and talent.
