Ever hear a dance teacher say, “Let’s take it from the top 5, 6, 7, 8”?

Counting helps dancers connect their movements to the music and stay together as a group. Try it with a song at home: find the beat, clap along, and count to eight before starting again. Then add a simple movement, like a step or a clap, to each count.

It’s a fun way to hear how music and dance work together!
