The dragonfly—symbolizing transformation and adaptability—hovers and shimmers across these glazed ceramic bowls, capturing a fleeting balance between earth and sky. Hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel, subtle variations in form reflect the handmade process, making each bowl a one-of-a-kind piece for both use and display. Each work is unique, functional, and designed to bring a quiet, natural presence into daily rituals.

The Rockland Center for the Arts (RoCA) in West Nyack offers various children's clay classes, including “Introduction to Handbuilding Ceramics” for ages 6-9 and "Let's Throw a Pot" for ages 9-13. These classes, led by instructor Colleen Vanderhoef, cover techniques like handbuilding, wheel throwing, and glazing, with materials and firing included in the fee.
Rockland Center for the Arts spring classes begin May 4.
