🎸 Grateful Dead Jam Series with Tim Gallegos from The Deal

Step into the spirit of fearless musical exploration at our Grateful Dead–inspired improvisation workshop 🎶✨
Designed for musicians of all levels, this hands-on session dives into the art of spontaneous creation—where grooves evolve, melodies travel, and every player helps shape the journey. Drawing inspiration from the legendary jam-band ethos, we’ll explore listening skills, modal jamming, group dynamics, and the magic that happens when musicians trust the moment.
Bring your instrument (or voice!), your curiosity, and your love for musical adventure. Come ready to experiment, collaborate, and discover how improvisation can turn a simple groove into a living, breathing musical experience.

🎹 Pop Ensemble with Arielle Vakni from ANIMA

Join the band! In Pop Ensemble, young musicians come together to form a real performing group and learn what it’s like to play in a modern band setting. Each month, students learn four popular songs, exploring a variety of styles from today’s hits to classic favorites.
Students will develop essential ensemble skills — listening, rhythm, dynamics, stage presence, and teamwork — while gaining confidence playing alongside others. Whether you sing, play guitar, bass, keys, or another instrument, you’ll get to collaborate, jam, and perform in a supportive, creative environment.
By the end of each month, your band will sound tighter, bolder, and ready for our annual student concert and other performance opportunities!

🎸 Rock Ensemble with Arielle Vakni from ANIMA!

Turn it up! In Rock Ensemble, musicians team up to form their own rock band, learning four songs each month drawn from the legends of classic rock to today’s powerhouse bands.
With guidance from Arielle Vakni, students dive into the essentials of live performance — tight rhythm, strong communication, expressive playing, and confident stage presence. Guitarists, bassists, vocalists, keyboardists, and more come together to jam, collaborate, and experience the energy of playing as a real band.
Each month brings new songs, new challenges, and the excitement of making music that rocks!

✨ Magic Woman’s High Desert Disco ✨

Magic Woman returns with High Desert Disco, our traveling pop-up dance party bringing shimmering grooves, cosmic energy, and late-night magic. Join us Saturday, April 25th at The Mystic Santa Fe for a night of house and disco with a western twist.

Dust off your boots, fringe, leather, denim and glitter expect a dance floor full of magic.

The raffle was a great success - we raised $1,400 for our nonprofit music school and we put on a great show 🎼💕

We are pleased to welcome Kaitlin Schramm to the WBMS team!

Kaitlin Schramm teaches piano to students of any age - encouraging both an ability to read and understand music and music theory, and an ability to play ‘by ear’. She has been playing piano since she was young, and is so grateful she was taught the basics of music so that she can teach others.

As a lover of all kinds of music, she more recently took up playing the banjo, since you can’t carry a piano to the bluegrass jam!
