Don’t forget!! Our open call to submit original art + writing for our 5th anniversary book publication project ends on June 15th at 11:59pm MT. That’s just under a week away! Read on for details and please help us spread the word!

2027 will mark TAAC’s 5th anniversary! And in celebration of this monumental milestone, we are preparing to self-publish a special-edition anniversary book, reflecting all of you and the energy and vibrance of our collective over our first five years. This book will be released in conjunction with a special anniversary exhibition that will run from May-September of 2027 at the Hotel Willa Gallery, produced by

Our book will be self-published as an original artwork and an expression of our commitment to artist voices, inclusivity and to telling the story of abstract art in Northern New Mexico.

Scope of Book: TAAC is obtaining our own publishing imprint for this and future art publications. We intend the book to include a collection of the following:
✨TAAC Artist Artwork
✨Essays, poetry/poetics regarding artwork; in response to/accompanying artwork
✨Essays, poetry/poetics about art practice and artist collective
✨Essays, poetry/poetics about New Mexico, the Southwest
✨Essays, poetry/poetics about inclusivity and access in the arts
✨Essays, poetry/poetics about abstraction
✨Photography
✨Excerpts from TAAC TALK interviews (radio/video)
✨Guest contributors from the artist community
An acknowledgement of every TAAC artist who has participated in a program or exhibition over the last five years

Submissions & Participation:
The call is open for submissions from March 9th - June 15th, 2026. The submission fee will be $10 and will directly fund the administrative costs of the project. If someone would like to submit but is unable to pay the fee, TAAC will absorb that cost. Please email us at [email protected] if you need assistance with the submission fee. Selected contributors will receive a discount on the final publication.

🔴SPEX26 is a wrap!! A huge thank you and congratulations again you to all of our exhibiting artists this season! Congratulations to our TAAC Spring scholar .savage and to our four high school scholars 🔴 We had a wonderful and inspiring community celebration over this past week! Thanks to our awesome crew of volunteers who received artwork, gallery sat and kept the party going all week, helped with the receptions and the deinstallation! Thanks to our install captain 🛥️ and for installing the show. Thanks to board vice chair and Jonny Urban for our exceptional catalog! Thanks to for capturing the spirit of our collective on video! Thanks to our friends and community partners at and to for the generous grant to produce our community exhibitions and make them accessible to all!

👀 SPEX26 closes tomorrow! Congratulations to all of our exhibiting artists and scholars on such an incredible show this week. The Stables Gallery is open from 10 to 6 today and from 11 to 6 tomorrow with a closing reception from 3 to 5 PM. The reception is free, accessible, and open to the public!

🔥Don’t forget! TAAC does not take a portion of proceeds from any of the Art sales at our community exhibitions! So if you’ve had your eye on a piece of work this week here is your invitation to support abstract art and artists in Northern New Mexico!

This Spring, TAAC is proud to announce Santa Fe-based Phoenix Savage as the TAAC Scholar award recipient. Phoenix is a medical anthropologist and sculptor creating interactive installations that evoke sensory engagement. Savage maintains a layered, research-based studio practice that investigates West African Yoruba philosophy and the meaning of being human. The TAAC Scholar Award is given to an artist whose work has pushed the bounds of abstraction within the Northern New Mexico artistic community.

🔴⚡️ OPENING TONIGHT! TAOS ABSTRACT ARTIST COLLECTIVE CELEBRATES SPEX 26: 4th ANNUAL SPRING EXHIBITION. TAAC presents SPEX ‘26, from May 8th – 16th, 2026, at the Stables Gallery at the Taos Center for the Arts. Featuring work by 78 abstract artists working across diverse media and disciplines. The event is free, accessible and open to the public.

🔴TAAC is proud to announce Santa Fe-based Phoenix Savage as the recipient of the TAAC Scholar award. 🔴TAAC recognizes 4 NMSA seniors for excellence in abstraction: Ayana Anaya, Zoé Penot, bri tweet, and Sofia Lansrud-Lopez. One TAAC HS Scholar will be awarded a scholarship to help further their artistic practice beyond high school.
