I try to do about a dozen concerts each summer season. I will be back at the City of Corvallis for their summer concerts series. And back up to sisters for their tribute bands run. Going for rodeo as well. Running up to Oregon city to help a friends band sound great this weekend. Busy summer ahead and looking forward to it. :)

Been having a problem with crowds. When we get a good band the dance floors on the outside concerts are packed. It really causes a sound suck in the middle frequencies. Continuing the pursuit of better sound I have decided to provide the mains with their own support tower. This will get the mains up and over most of the crowd. If I bought a system toady I would have a vertical line array that is inherently above folks head. Anyway I still get to play with angular dispersion a bit. Ready for the new season.

The heart of the system are the speakers. All JBL with Crown amplifiers. I get loads of compliments from multiple artists on how clear the system is. But the secret is in the design. The JBL tops are a 3 way system that provides unmatched clarity. Couple that with the subwoofer cardioid array and you get the magic. It's all based on math and physics, lows get down to 32Hz with half the power needed. The midrange are incredibly crisp with their own drivers to fill the spectrum. Looking forward to another summer.

One of the most important aspects of this digital sound world is a great router. I use multiple wireless iPads during a live performance to control the system. I get more and more musicians that want to control their own mixes, especially in-ears. No problem I have a great Netgear router that rocks.

Here we go another full summer for the sound. Using digital sound boards requires me to clean every ribbon cable in the system to insure a reliable concert season. Started shakedown last week and everything is looking great and sounding great.

Starting to book my sound gigs for next year already. If you need me don't wait past January to request an event date. But I had a couple of cancellations last year and you never know what will open up. Looking forward to next summer already
