Chuck’s 19-piece orchestra, THE JAZZ SURGE, is
celebrating their 30 th Anniversary, and play two nights
later this month, September 25 & 26, at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center.

Known as one of the most distinctive large
ensembles anywhere, with 7 Grammy nominations,
they’ll be joined by all-star guests Randy Brecker, Terri Lyne Carrington and Warren Wolf..

Trumpeter Randy Brecker is the recipient of 7 Grammys. In 2012, he received THREE Grammys for a single album: the fantastic big band album "Jazz Ballad Songbook." What a wonderful concert on Sunday (8/23) with James Suggs and Jeremy Carter who celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of two jazz legends, Miles Davis and John Coltrane with a sold-out show!

John O'Leary was on piano, Alejandro Arenas, bass and Jean Bolduc, drums. We are so lucky to have such talented jazz artists in our community! The concert was held at the Mainstage Theatre at Hillsborough College in Ybor City, and is part of HC’s Visual & Performing Arts Series.

Tampa Jazz Club's season is just beginning! Up next, multi-Grammy nominated composer Chuck Owen celebrates the 30th anniversary of his ground-breaking band, the Jazz Surge! Chuck will present back-to-back concerts Sept. 25 & 26th, featuring trumpet legend Randy Brecker (25th) and acclaimed drummer Terri Lyne Carrington with vibraphone master Warren Wolf (26th) Wow. Both shows will be at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center

Check out the great vibes as James Suggs and Jeremy Carter perform a centennial tribute to jazz legends Miles Davis and John Coltrane this Sunday!
