Magnificent Insects Art Camp was buzzing with science facts, art, games, and so much creative energy! We explored some of the world's coolest beetles and insects, using our research to inspire artwork based on nature's incredible colors, patterns, and designs. This was definitely an energetic group of art lovers, and we loved every minute of creating with them!

Check out the most adorable little butterflies 🦋✨🌸
This week at art camp, we fluttered into the wonderful world of butterflies! We explored the amazing designs of butterfly wings, learning about symmetry, camouflage, and eye-like patterns that help protect butterflies from predators. Then we transformed our discoveries into colorful wearable wings filled with shimmer and sparkle for our butterfly parade around the studio.

Bubbly Bath Camp was EPIC! 🧼🫧

GOODBYE MAY 👋🏿✨

And just like that, we wrapped up our very first semester in the new space! This studio has welcomed so many amazing families and grown into a place where kids truly get to be kids, a space that encourages creativity, playfulness, critical thinking, friendship, and self-expression.

This month we explored contemporary art, graffiti, mosaics, and watercolor painting, ending the semester with so much color and creativity. We also hosted our very first student art show, which was such an incredible experience and a huge accomplishment for all of our students. Watching them proudly share their artwork was something truly special.

Thank you to every family who has supported Painted Leaf and helped make this season so meaningful. We can’t wait to return in the Fall for another semester of weekly classes, creativity, and making art together.

Such a special full circle moment ❤️

The first photo is Jaxon now at 9 1/2, showing his artwork in his very first student art show. The next photo is him (and my daughter) at just 2 years old back in 2018, at one of the very first art playgroups I used to host in my backyard for friends.

Jaxon was truly one of my very first students, and I’ve had the privilege of watching him grow over the years into such a talented, creative, and kind kid. He’s taken classes with me through so much of his life, and now I even get to teach his little brother too

This art show was also a first for me. I had dreamed of hosting a student exhibition for years, and yesterday I finally made it happen. So I guess you could say Jaxon and I accomplished something special together 🥹

Forever grateful to the Ball family for being there from the very beginning, through every studio space and chapter along the way. Your support has meant the world to me. ❤️
