A huge congratulations to artist Iva Gueorguieva on her just-announced Guggenheim Fellowship; this is a significant recognition of her immense talent, artistic vision, and dedicated practice! Iva has collaborated on projects with Graphicstudio since 2011, when her first print ‘Stained’ was released. One of the most prolific Graphicstudio artists, Gueorguieva’s projects at the studio incorporate a staggering number of techniques and approaches, including editioned and unique prints, several series of unique sculptures, and shaped monoprints on fabric. Her prints and sculptures epitomize the studio’s mission to expand artists’ work in new and innovative directions.

We are so sad to learn of the passing of legendary artist Pat Steir. Graphicstudio was privileged to have published a collaboration between Steir and poet John Yau that was released in 2000. They worked together on a group of four lithographs that paired Steir's signature drip marks with Yau's poetry, which Yau typeset by hand using rubber stamps. One print uses a process developed by Graphicstudio called waxtype to print Steir's gesture in a ghostly, white-pigmented beeswax over a blue gradient resembling the sky. Others feature intense red, gold, black and cream colors.

This collaboration is just one example of the many facets and forms that Pat Steir's continually experimental artistic practice encompassed.
