In honor of Labor Day, teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, government employees, and active-duty military members living in the Tampa Bay area can receive FREE admission to the aquarium with one paid general admission Sept. 5-30!👏

*Eligible residents must live in Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus or Pinellas County. Valid employee ID and proof of residency required. Available at the Aquarium ticket window only. Offers cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.

These blue-spotted jawfish spit out sand to clean out and build their underground burrows. They’re always cleaning out the sand that’s fallen down in their homes.

Spitting the sand at their neighbors is also a territorial defense system! 🐠

Recently four rehabilitated juvenile green sea turtles went on the road with biologists from The Florida Aquarium making a cross-state trek for their return to the Atlantic Ocean near Palm Coast. 🚙 🐢 🌊

Staff at the Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center in Apollo Beach gave each turtle one final check-up, removed the color bands from their flippers used to identify them during rehab, applied ointment to keep their eyes lubricated during the drive, and carefully packed them up for their journey home. ❤️‍🩹

The turtles have been successfully released to their home. 🎉 ✨
