We recently completed a 50-foot porch mural in Tampa, Florida — honestly one of our best yet, thanks to near-total creative freedom. The client’s request: “I would love my porch to feel like I’m in a Florida swamp.” From the walls to the ceiling, this mural is an EXPERIENCE!
When you step out of the main sliding doors, a mama gator immediately greets you with her open mouth, protecting her nest hidden within the super intricate bamboo. One of our favorite parts of this mural was utilizing the bamboo to integrate a weird, bumpy wire cover. we enjoy figuring out ways to work WITH imperfections, which always makes the mural so unique.
The ceiling is so fun! The teal is super, super vibrant and compliments the layered clouds that colorfully reflect the sun coming up, pushing into the darkness.
A little show of our personality: we took one of the windowsills and made it a swamp sign, covered in weeds and BIRD P**P! As you gaze down the line of trees, you’ll see a beautiful bald eagle gliding in to claim its spot on that one single swamp sign. What’s really unique about this sign is that its location is exactly 100 miles away from Lochloosa Swamp — a nod to our favorite band,
Located on the other side of the grill area, that can really only be seen if you’re taking a dip in the pool, is a red swamp hibiscus plant that’s blooming and reaching for the sunlight. This is just another little beautiful moment that creative freedom can bring out.
This was definitely one of the most fun murals we’ve ever done, and it is absolutely one-of-a-kind!
