HCC VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS SERIES PRESENT: LA FIESTA: A CELEBRATION OF CHICK COREA Featuring The ZACHARY BARTHOLOMEW TRIO Sunday, October 30 3:00 PM HCC/Ybor City – Mainstage Theatre We'll honor the legacy of CHICK COREA at the next Tampa Jazz Club concert, when the trio of DR. ZACHARY BARTHOLOMEW appears in the Mainstage Theatre at HCC/Ybor City on Sunday, October 30 at 3:00. As part of the HCC Visual & Performing Arts Series, the trio presents "LA FIESTA: A CELEBRATION OF CHICK COREA," with a wide sampling of the jazz master's compositions from throughout his remarkable career. Based in South Florida, Zachary Bartholomew is an award-winning pianist and educator, currently a faculty member at Florida Memorial University, who has headlined at major festivals and jazz clubs. He also has created the ‘Jazz Access Tour,’ an outreach program providing Florida’s underserved communities and schools with world-class performances and educational opportunities. While he is at home with the entire history of jazz piano, Chick Corea is one of the major influences on Zach's playing. And for this concert, he'll be joined by two of the Bay Area's great players, both of whom are veterans of Tampa Jazz Club concerts at HCC, bassist MAURICIO RODRIGUEZ, and drummer PAUL GAVIN. CHICK COREA was simply one of the greats of American music, an artist who was constantly creative in a wide variety of genres and with many amazing collaborators, from the 1960s until his passing in 2021. He was awarded 27 Grammys, by far the most of any jazz artist, with the final one being a posthumous honor for a live concert recording at St. Petersburg College. In fact -- while he was on the road a great deal for most of his career -- the Bay Area was home for Chick and his wife Gayle for many years. Please help us honor one of the all-time greats, with this terrific trio, when the ZACHARY BARTHOLOMEW TRIO presents 'LA FIESTA: CELEBRATING CHICK COREA' on Sunday, October 30!
