Great job in class tonight!
Tonight we worked on fun connection and musicality concepts, practiced walking and pivots, and learned about having responsive, not tense, muscles!
Next week we will work on walking and embrace concepts as well as some body mechanics and technique!
Someone said tango is slow! I say that's not true at all! Check out my favorite couple dancing not-so-slowly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB9yuW6jZP4
There is an off-campus Fundamentals of Social Tango- Level 1A class on Thursday nights starting February 1st at 7:00pm at 3932 W Hillsborough. If you can't make it Mondays at USF, this is a great opportunity to learn. College student price is $80 for 8 weeks, $120 for non-students. Info and registration at www.tampatangoexchange.com
I encourage you all to attend Tango Practica Thursdays from 8:30-10pm every Thursday at 3932 W. Hillsborough Avenue. It's $5 for USF students, $7 for other college students, and $10 for non-students. Practica is where you practice what you learned in class. Regular practice is absolutely necessary if you really want to learn this dance so I hope you'll join us there. It's a safe place with really nice dancers from the Tampa community and I (Trista) will be there to help you through it!
Our friends Victoria and Federico also host Tango on Fridays - Class & Milonga De Los Viernes every Friday at 5320 S. Macdill Ave, Tampa. There is a multi-level class at 8pm followed by dancing from 9pm-12am. Full time college students with ID: Class & Milonga = $10, Milonga Only - $5. For non-students, add $5.
Hugs- Trista Brophy
