I've been doing portraits of my friends. Just for my own pleasure.
I go through photos from the past 50 years...I select the one that puts me in touch with their personality. Then I spend some hours recreating their image. I think of the times we've spent together. When someone passes I give the painting to the family.
For me, this is closure. A tribute to one of so many wonderful people who I love and appreciate.
Selling is nice but I find distribution beyond profit feels right.
