Raise your hand if you know what ‘psidium’ is! ✋
Legend says that a man full of dreams heard of a land abundant in guava trees and their beautiful psidium blooms. It was said to be full of so much irresistible potential that he ventured from Cuba all the way to what we know today as our home, Ybor City.
Except, he didn’t find a single guava tree upon his arrival. (Boooo!) But he was determined to make his dreams for Ybor come true. He called on his tried and true Key West bestie, a cigar factory owner, to save the day by joining him on his journey. Together, they made a name for the home of the ci**rs.
Every street corner had smoky cigar shops and the smell of freshly baked Cuban bread and pastries filled the air. As nights came to life, Ybor residents celebrated together sharing drinks 🥂, dance 💃, and laughter in lowkey speakeasy’s. Ybor became one of the most bustling hotspots for good times, good food, and good friends as the entertainment and art industries boomed 💥 in Tampa like never before.
And it all started with a dream. It all started with 𝐏𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦.
