To every single person who was a part of the first ever Hate City Open — thank you.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Just over one year ago, there was nothing here but a road and some trees.
What you walked onto this weekend — the fields, the venue, the energy — was built from the ground up by people who believed in something before there was anything to show for it. Watching this event come to life over the course of three days at 830 Steadman Road was something none of us will ever forget. And we were proud — truly proud — to let it fly with DEFY.
Whether you were right down the road or you crossed the country — or even crossed international borders — to be here, we truly cannot thank you enough.
To every player who suited up, chrono'd their marker, and stepped onto the field with everything they had — you are why we do this. Twelve teams showed up ready to compete, and every single one of you represented this sport the right way.
The level of competition, the sportsmanship, and the heart we saw on those fields this weekend is exactly what woodsball is all about.
To every spectator who came out to watch, cheer, and support your teams from the sidelines — your energy was felt all weekend long. The game is nothing without the people who show up just to be there.
To every person who volunteered their time, their effort, and their energy behind the scenes — you are the backbone of events like this. None of it happens without you.
To every referee who ran those fields, made the calls, and kept the games moving with integrity — we respect and appreciate your dedication.
To everyone who shared a post, liked a graphic, commented from home, tagged a teammate, or spread the word online — that support matters more than you know. Every share, every tag, every kind word helped us reach people we never could have alone. You are a part of this whether you were on the field or not.

Thank you for believing in Tallapoosa Paintball and allowing us the honor of hosting a WCPL format event. Bringing the World Classic Paintball League to Tallapoosa, Georgia — to a field that didn't even exist a little over a year ago — is something we will carry with us for a long time. We do not take that trust lightly. We are proud to be part of the WCPL family and we look forward to growing this relationship for years to come.
To The Misfits — congratulations. You are the first ever Hate City Open Champions. You earned every single point on that board.
