Five years. So many memories. And a future we honestly don’t have figured out yet.
No matter what happens next, we need to start with thank you.
Thank you for welcoming Chill into your lives with open arms.
Thank you for walking through our doors, bringing your friends, trying our crazy drinks, shopping our racks, coming to our events, dancing with us, laughing with us, sitting at the bar for hours, supporting our ideas and allowing us to be a small part of your lives.
We have watched friendships start here. We’ve celebrated birthdays, hosted artists and musicians, met so many incredible people and watched this tiny space become something much bigger than anything we could have created on our own.
There have been a lot of roadblocks over the last five years, and somehow, every single time, we found another way forward. This time feels different.
As we explained in these slides, the Chill you know today will be changing by the end of October. What we don’t know yet is whether that means goodbye or whether Chill gets to become something completely different. And we really, need your help figuring that out.
We don’t want to make promises about what comes next when we don’t know the answer ourselves. We just know that if there is a sustainable way for this space to continue serving this community - through vintage, local vendors, events, music, pop-ups, or something we haven’t even thought of yet - we’re willing to listen.
So please read through the slides and tell us what you would actually support, participate in, shop, book or help us build.
We need honesty more than anything right now.
And if this does end up being the end of Chill, please know that none of it was for nothing. We got five years of memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. We got to meet all of you. We got to create something weird, different and completely ours, and Tallahassee welcomed us with open arms. For that, we will forever be grateful.
