Festival Caribé

For the 4th year in a row (since 2019), The Funky 'Taters have been invited to perform in the International Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana, Cuba, January 21-28. We take our 10 or 11 band members as well as people who have always wanted to go but never had the chance. The January trip is full, but let us know if you'd be interested in going in March, during the World Music Festival.

Besides music and dance, Havana is full of museums, parks, a seawall (the Malecon), good restaurants and friendly people. We stay legally under the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control's travel category of Support for the Cuban People, staying with families in the Vedado neighborhood (near the Hotel Habana Libre and the Hotel Nactional).

Old Havana, with its beautiful colonial buildings, public squares, and fort by the harbor, is a 10-min cab ride away, about three miles on foot along the Malecon. Join us in March! See www.jans-trips.com for more information.

Free parking can be found in Garage E, the parking garage adjacent to the building. There are also metered spaces on Martin Luth King Boulevard to the rear of the building, and additional parking is available at Kleman Plaza (Bronough/Duval Street) and the Civic Center (Pensacola Street).
