Indaba Theatre of Florida Marigold Days

"We begin to heal ourselves and others through the telling of our stories.” Donna Cotterell, Director. Marigold Days takes you on a journey to the South, from the roots of Africa, to a mystical, magical place called Tallahassee where they say no one died of natural causes...

The stories that you will experience are based on true tales, steeped in the bible-belt with familiar places based on southern tradition. Marigold Days is a collection of stories, beautiful stories. It, also touches upon oppressive taboo subject matter. This performance will engage the audience through an art form that encompasses music, song, dance, visual arts and crafts. A coterie of artists will portray these stories. You will experience the joy of community theater, revisiting some universal stories of bygone days. These stories are told by ordinary folk like Aunt Sista, Ida Mae, and Ethel Pearl. We have changed some of the names to protect the guilty. Come revel in the magical healing of storytelling, Southern style. You will leave with a tear in your eye and warmth in your heart
Welcome to the garden of Marigold's, a place of healing, peace and grace.
