Thomas nor I took the initiative to paint the sign or the front of the building when we moved out of 1105 W Tharpe Street. It was just too hard, we both thought "we'll let the next business do it". Lesson learned universe, lesson learned!

Delayed pain is just that, delayed. Painting today hurt because it was truly the last bit of us at the place that felt like home to so many. It hurt even worse because of the awful circumstances in which we had to do it 😔

We want to let everyone know how badly it has hurt our hearts to hear of the news, from a spot where so many of us shared so many wonderful memories. Looks like the warehouse, out back, was rented and the new tenant(s) decided to take over and promote events with our name. Even closed, we seem to be on the front page. We are diligently working to correct this and any further use of our name without permission. Thank you, all, for your continued love and support.

The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has arrested 25-year-old Markus King in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 4:33 a.m. on May 13 in the 1100 block of West Tharpe Street.

Officers responded to the area following reports of a shooting and quickly learned the victim had been transported to the corner of Seventh Avenue and Monroe Street. Life-saving measures were attempted; however, the victim sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Through their investigation, detectives with TPD's Violent Crimes Unit identified King as a suspect. The investigation revealed the victim was asked to leave the Sound Bar following an argument with staff. A disagreement continued outside the business, during which the victim reportedly made threats and entered a vehicle. King then retrieved a firearm kept on-site for security and discharged the weapon multiple times, striking the victim.

Following consultation with the State Attorney's Office, King was charged with second-degree homicide.

This arrest reflects TPD's ongoing commitment to hold those who harm others accountable. Anyone with information related to criminal activity is encouraged to contact the Tallahassee Police Department at 850-891-4200 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS (8477).
