About a year ago, we upgraded our Universal Audio Plugins, and I tried out the Neve 88RS plugin, which is a faithful emulation of a channel strip out of a Neve 88RS console. It quickly became my go-to EQ, and I’ve used it on every record since. I’ve never really connected with the compressor or gate, but I was pleased to discover that AMS Neve now makes a 2 channel hardware version of the EQ section of the 88RS, so, of course, we got one! It sounds really incredible. Recently I’ve used it on heavy guitars, and the top snare drum mic. It has excelled on both those sources! Can’t wait for you guys to hear it in action! -Kyle

New gear alert! Please help us welcome our new AMS Neve 1073DPX! With the addition of this piece, we now have 12 channels of Neve-style preamps with EQ. For its maiden voyage today, we’re using it on toms, and it sounds amazing. More new gear is on the way, and we look forward to sharing that with you as well!

As some of you know, Gasoline Alley started life as Flamingo Studios in the late ‘70s. Check out this awesome brochure Charlie found! While the technology has changed, the soul of the studio remains the same, and we are committed to honoring and continuing the legacy of excellence that owner and founder Charlie Roberts has created. Also, please do not ask Kyle what happened to all the vintage gear in this photo. After Charlie showed him the brochure, Kyle “had to go lay down” and is currently “in seclusion.”
