A Carolina Wren make her nest in the kiln shed last month, so we got to see the whole process and enjoyed a lovely Sunday morning drinking coffee and watching them all leave the nest and learn to fly this week. So fun!

I LOOOOOVE how the itsy bitsy owl mugs turned out!!! If you're at the conference next week, find me and say hi, I love meeting new friends! I'll be the one wearing one of these cuties on my lanyard. 🥰

All my NCECA bits and baubles are fired and the kiln is cooling. I'm normally pretty good about being patient while it's cooling, but I'm really excited to see everything and really want it to hurry up, lol. Unloading time tomorrow morning feeling like it's SOOOOOO far away!

Between life stuff and the cold weather, it has been a couple months since I've been in the studio working. I'm so happy to finally get moving again and into the studio.

This week, I'm exploring wet alteration techniques and textures on the pieces I'll use for our Wood-Fired Rocket Kiln Workshop the end of this month. These will get a variety of glaze applications to test how they react in oxidation vs reduction firings and see how the glazes move over texture. I'm excited to learn new firing techniques and see how these turn out!
