PSA/RANT WITH A TATTOO ARTIST

I'm begging all of you for just one simple thing. And I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Learn what AI tattoos look like. Every day I receive multiple requests for tattoos and I get sent photos like the ones below. AI knows a lot of things, but what it doesn't know is how things heal and what is possible to tattoo into the skin.

Here's the thing, some of these tattoos ARE possible to do! Absolutely! But, will they be as bold, as bright, or as smooth as these pictures? Absolutely NOT! Your skin stretches, bends, moves, curves, and distorts. Even as a fresh tattoo, these will not look as bright or as defined as they do in these CLEARLY COMPUTER MADE PHOTOS.

Even the best artists in the world cannot replicate AI designs that will hold up over time. It's impossible. Why? Because you grow, you gain weight, you lose weight, you gain and lose muscle mass, you get older, your skin pigmentation changes. All of these affect EVERY SINGLE TATTOO.

Please keep these things in mind when you're searching for tattoo references. Learn what is AI, learn what actual tattoos look like, learn how some artists edit/enhance and filter their work to look brighter and better. And please, research your artist. Run their photos through AI image detectors to see if they use it to fix their tattoos. Ask for unedited photos, look at their healed work, ask what they enjoy and are good at. And please, understand when I tell you the image you sent (if it's AI) is not possible and trust me when I say I can make something fully custom to what you're wanting.

Wanna book a tattoo? Wanna get a piercing?! Wanna do both?!? Well, here's how!

For tattooing:
Step 1: Shoot me a message on THIS page, not my personal page. And no, I probably won't give you my phone number. Or, come by the shop and talk to me in person!

Step 2: Let's discuss! We can hash out what you want tattooed and make a game plan! Give me all your reference photos, give me as much detail on size, location, and design as you possibly can. That makes my job in designing something perfect for you so much easier.

Step 3: Deposit time! Yes, I do require a $50 deposit to book your tattoo. It can be paid via cashapp, Venmo, or in cash. The $50 gets applied to your final price of the tattoo. Without this deposit, I cannot guarantee a day and time for you to get tattooed. This is a business, and while I consider you all my friends, it's still a business and money talks.

Step 4: Showtime!! You show up on the day and time of your appointment and get tattooed! Bring snacks, bring a drink or two (non alcoholic), bring headphones if you want, a book, an iPad, a blanket, jacket, pillow, whatever you need to be comfortable while getting your tattoo. Please, for the love of everything holy, show up on time. I give a 15 minute grace period, any time after that (unless you contact me with a legit reason, no oversleeping is not legit) voids your appointment and is an automatic reschedule. First offense, you will owe another deposit, if you do it a second time double deposit, if you do it a third time, you're fired. I will not be working with you if you no call no show me 3 times.

For piercing
Step 1: Call the shop to make sure we are available.

Step 2: Show up and get pierced! Piercings are walk in only. So we encourage you to call first, make sure we are free, and show up when you say you will.

If you've read this this far, then I love you. If you didn't.... then I still love you, but you're gonna get a dirty look next time I see you.

INTRODUCING

Hello my fellow humans, haven't introduced myself in a minute so I thought, maybe I need to. If you're new here, hey, my name is David (you can call me David, Dave, D, Ratstache, or that dude that pi**es off other tattooers from time to time) and I'm a tattoo artist at in Talladega, AL. I've been tattooing for 17 years total, and it is something I am very passionate about. Every tattoo I do, I use as a learning opportunity so that I can constantly grow and get better at my craft. Am I perfect, the best, or even great at what I do? Not by a long shot. However, I do strive to give every person who comes in the best tattoo I possibly can for them.
