This year has been full of a lot of change, but in 2026 I hope to bring Open Closet back. Though I'm living in Eugene, Open Closet is still a Southern Oregon operation.

I am so sorry that it has taken so long to get an update out to you all. I had wanted to be able to give definite news, but unfortunately, that took longer than I was hoping.

Many things have made it so that Open Closet work needed to be paused. In my personal life, I have taken a job in the rural Eugene area. There has been a lot of preparation involved in that transition. This year in particular, I’ve been needing to dedicate a lot of time and energy to my career. As I’m sure many of you relate, I have also been drained emotionally and physically from the constant waves of devastating news surrounding our country and the current administration’s choices. While I know that Open Closet has made an impact and is important to many of you, it’s been so hard to balance all the spinning plates lately.

I hope that Open Closet can return in some way in the future. For now, I don’t want to make any promises. Please know that I cherish the safe spaces we’ve created together, and I hope you all are fighting hard for yours in these scary, hostile times.

Bleeding Hearts & Heels was filled with so much q***r joy, love, and community! 💖🏳️‍🌈 Across the country, people protested on April 5th. Unplanned, but we joined the angry crowd in our own way on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who made this show possible and to all who came to cheer on these incredible artists!

This Saturday, April 5th, is our long awaited Bleeding Hearts & Heels: An Angry, Sapphic Variety Show! It is a daytime show! ☀️ Doors open at 1:00pm and the show starts at 1:30pm. This show is at StoneRiver Winery in Talent, OR. There will be performances, wine, and sunshine! 🍷✨This show is $15 per ticket and you must be 21 or older. (Come early for an acoustic pre-show by Tuffshed & John Johns!)

This show is about letting off some STEAM together! 🔥 Right now, we need each other more than ever. Come together to support q***r art: drag, burlesque, comedy, and live singing! 🏳️‍🌈

This is going to be Open Closet's last show for a bit while we transition to new endeavours in light of this current political and social climate. As always, all proceeds will go to paying performers, and planning for future Open Closet events.

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that we are postponing this weekend's Hearts & Heels show at The Urban Cork. The weather is very unpredictable and it will possibly continue snowing into next week. We have cast members who live outside of town (and even outside the state!) who we want to make sure are safe, as well as you, our amazing audience.

If you bought a presale ticket, you will be refunded today. If you donated to the show, your donation will still go to our next production, or you may request a refund.

Right now, drag shows are more important than ever. We will be doing our best to reschedule and will let you know as soon as we have a plan in the works. In the meantime, whenever you can, please support your local q***r artists in any way that you can.
