I am writing to cordially invite you all to attend PRIME: A Tribute to Returning Home. This will be an evening dedicated to celebrating the power, passion, and determination of four matriarchs who built the foundation of Dance Place, and thus the surrounding Brookland area: Carla Perlo, Deborah Riley, Mama Sylvia Soumah, and Carol Foster.

These women didn't just shape a dance community. They created the conditions for generations of artists, students, and families, including many of us, to find our way home. PRIME is our love letter to them.

Sarah Beth Oppenheim of HHeart Stück Bernie Dr. Ronya-Lee Anderson and The Light Factory, and myself, AAma Lawof Project ChArma will take the stage to honor these extraordinary women through the power of movement and performance. There are many other UMD alumni and current students involved in this production as well!

The Sunday matinee (March 8 at 4 pm) will also feature something truly intimate: the matriarchs themselves will share stories about their legacies and their deep investment in this community, followed by a reception where you can connect with them directly.

Please come. Bring your people. Let's fill this house and show these women just how much they mean to us.

Visit DDance Placeat www.danceplace.org to grab your tickets for PRIME: A Tribute to Returning Home today! See you soon.
