Oh how I love the creative energy of Asheville!! My June 20 workshop sold out in a day so I’ve added another date on July 15. This class will fill fast so please register early to join us for some fun in the studio!

Mixed Media Mosaics: Building lines with natural and man-made materials

July 15, 2026, 530 to 8:30 PM

Location: North Asheville Studio

Learn to create a beautiful textured mosaic using various natural materials, including stone, slate, and pebbles, along with man-made materials, including stained glass, vitreous glass, and aluminum shavings. We will explore how to lay the materials in different ways to create lines and various ways of creating contrast with your lines to form a cohesive design.

Watch a demo to learn how to mix thin set, cut glass, adhere mosaic pieces in a bed of mortar, and build your design. Then create your own small mosaic!

All materials are provided, but students are encouraged to bring any special objects, they would like to include in their Mosaics, such as rocks, pebbles, found objects, or beads. Finding materials in nature is half the fun!
