How exciting! It is Cherokee National Holiday this Labor Day weekend. They have a lot of wonderful things happening.

If you have an extra hour this weekend, you could do an escape room. Conquer the Paradox Escape Rooms is located at 1042 S. Muskogee Avenue, right here in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. You can call or book on-line. We take walk-ins after 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays, as long as a room is available.

Join us Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5, for the Inter-Tribal Powwow, celebrating Native American culture and traditions from across the United States.

Enjoy traditional dancing, singing and drumming as Indigenous people gather to honor ancestral traditions. Dancers will also compete for top honors and more than $35,000 in prize money.

Admission is free for competitors and spectators. Please bring your own seating. No pets are allowed.

The Bluegrass Festival and Chili Contest (in Tahlequah) is coming up next weekend. They have so many great artists lined up as well as plenty of other festivities and booths. I am excited to watch the Chili Dog Derby. I know it will be a hoot to watch those little dogs running around 😁. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this activity is happening at 1:00 pm on Saturday (September 12th) on Water Street (kind of in front of Vintage Market).
