Tiny Nutcracker Performer spotlight shines on Eva Stone and Joshua Crouch today!

Each uniquely involved in Seattle’s dance scene for many years, if not decades.
The Stone Dance Collective, directed by Eva Stone, originated in London, England in 1993 and became a permanent part of the Seattle/Eastside dance community in 1995. The Stone Dance Collective will grace the Tiny Nutcracker stage with four members of its collective performing the role of Snow. Eva is also the creator of Chop Shop: Bodies of Work, a dance festival 12 years running now produced in Bellevue.

Joshua Crouch currently performs with Blackbird Dance from New York, teaches a free community Graham in the Park class during the summer, and teaches workshops nationally as well as for many Seattle studios including: The School of Spectrum Dance Theatre, ARC, Bainbridge Dance Center, and Cornish College of the Arts. He is also the director of the PNW Graham Symposium in Seattle. Joshua will be dancing the part of the Arabian cookie.
To this day, he remains deeply connected with the work of the Graham Company and has a passionate approach to the traditions and legacy of the Graham Technique and its history.

We are so excited to welcome back to Tiny Nutcracker, local artists Angel Williams, Lauren Sanford, Lorraine Constantine, and new to the tiny stage this year, Vince-John Frijas!

Reprising their vivacious roles as Madame Bathtub Gin and the Dope Dame, Ms. Constantine and Ms. Sanford will be sure to bring back all the moxie they can muster to the stage!

A Little Bit of This Presents A Tiny Twist On A Holiday
Classic

Tacoma, WA- From the creative minds of Lorraine Constantine and Kate Monthy (A Little Bit of This) are bringing back their reimagined production of a beloved holiday classic. Tiny Nutcracker and the Land of the Speakeasy is set in the 1920’s, short and sweet, and full of holiday magic. For the second year, Jazzbones will be home for this show where audience members will once again be able to dine and imbibe while enjoying the sights of live dance and sounds of Tchaikovsky’s original score with a dash of Duke Ellington’s suite rendition.

Hosted by Tacoma’s own Mylo Precious (Dmitry Mikheyev), this tiny version of The Nutcracker will bring all of your favorite characters to new life on a tiny 5x5 foot stage along with all the grit and glamour of the 1920’s. Featuring performances by local artists Angel Williams (Westsiders), Vince-John Frijas (Image Studio of Dance ), Marvin Howard (Harbor Dance and Performance Center), Tiarra La, Sirena Rivera (Tacoma), Joshua Crouch (Seattle), Lauren Sanford (Image Studio of Dance), as well as show producer Lorraine Constantine (Stone Dance Collective).

Included in the evening will be Russian Chair Roulette (raffle to play and win a prize!), a raffle for a grand surprise, a best dressed 1920’s costume contest, as well as signature cocktails reflective of the speakeasy ambiance. Following the second show, audience members will be encouraged to stick around and cut a rug and keep the party going into the night, speakeasy style.

Tiny Nutcracker and the Land of the Speakeasy is premiering ONLY TWO shows on Saturday, December 15th, 2018. First show is festival seating and all ages. Second show is 21 and over with reserved seating and a dance soiree to follow. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and may be purchased at www.jazzbones.com
