Built and centered around a mid-1960s console hand-made for and used by Motown Detroit. Uptone Recorders is a vintage recording studio, featuring equipment & instruments from the golden age of recording. Combined with Pro Tools and Universal Audio Apollo Digital converters we can accommodate diverse recording projects from vintage time traveling freaks to modern recording needs. The centerpiece of

our studio is Motown Detroit's 1960s recording console. This console, when used with our selection of vintage Neumann, Sennheiser, and AKG microphones, our vintage EMT, AKG, and Lexicon reverbs, and our vast museum of vintage and modern instruments and outboard gear, will make your record come to life. All sessions include engineer and access to our museum of instruments & recording gear.

We have some special new gear at Uptone Recorders. I was beyond excited with the pair of vintage Universal Audio 1176 compressors we just added to the studio…THEN my mind was blown when I looked on the back of the units to discover they were from the legendary United Recorders in Hollywood, where Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood recorded nearly all of their material and where so many other magical recordings were made. We are so excited share these historical pieces with the artists we record. #1176

Collaborating from afar with Greek band My Drunken Haze! Tacoma/Athens. We are recording guitars, bass, keys, percussion in Tacoma and they are recording drums and vocals in Greece. Working on a full length album. A fun time!
