It is with great sadness that I must announce the end of an era. For the past 6 years, AB Pure Entertainment has been my baby. I have had the pleasure of seeing it go from a thought in my head to what it has become today - a staple of the local drag community, an outlet for an artistic passion that has always been within me, and, most importantly, a family. I say family, because that's what AB Pure Entertainment has been to me. From the numerous performers that brought the art of drag to the stage, the crew that worked with us both in the spotlight and behind the scenes, the venues we've been fortunate enough to call home, and the fans and followers that have taken time out of your busy lives to show your love and support for what we do - you have made this a family. And I am deeply grateful to have been so much a part of it.
As our lives change, we often find that our priorities in life also change. While I still posses a passion for the art of drag, I'm afraid I simply cannot make it the priority it once was. And for this reason, I've decided it's time to dedicate more time and energy to other pursuits. AB Pure Entertainment must make its final curtain call.
I want to extend a special thanks to 2 of our biggest supporters - Malarkey's Pool & Brew and The Mix. You've provided us with a home for many years now, and have earned our highest respect. I also wish to thank our sponsors Werqshop Studio, Willow's Photography, and Athena Vertical Dance. You've made it possible to get our faces out there, and make look great while doing it.
And it is with the utmost level respect and love that I thank the cast of AB Pure Entertainment - past and present. Every one of you have brought something special to our stage. Every one of you have made AB something special as a result of your unique artistic vision. And every one of you have been such a vital part of taking my dream of owning a drag company and making it a reality. You've helped me exceed what I thought would be possible. I cannot truly express the amount of pride and love I feel for each and every one of you. The inspiration you've provided me and being able to grow as both a performer and as a person alongside you has proven invaluable. I look forward to seeing each of you continue to grow and inspire as you move forward with your art, because I know that is exactly what you will do. I've always said, "once AB, always AB", and I've always meant that. Never more so then now. You will ALWAYS be my family no matter what road we choose to travel. I love you all so very much.
So now, as the music goes silent, the lights fade to black, and the wigs are packed away, I do not say goodbye - I say until next time...
Bottom's Up, Bi***es!
