What Dwells Beneath

What Dwells Beneath As an artist, I work to recreate what I see and experience beneath the surface of the waves, the real and the imagined.

It's important to me that I capture the tone of the different locations which inspire each piece; the pacific northwest, my beautiful home, has a different feel and look than my more tropical pieces, inspired by my explorations in Hawaii. The sea has always felt inviting to me; It is my home away from home. So whichever pieces call to my viewers and collectors, I hope they bring feelings of home, adventure, or both.

My newest tarot card painting, The Hanged Man

The hanged man represents surrender in uncomfortable situations. This card tells you that there is wisdom in pausing to reevaluate your position before forging ahead.

His upside down position represents a gain in new perspective, while the halo represents a gain in wisdom.

The first few prints of this piece will be availble at the International Mermaid Museum for the last weekend of mermaid festival this weekend, with Pirate Cliff at the WDB booth

The Wheel Of Fortune ✨️ 16x20 wood canvas

It's been a long time goal of mine to produce a tarot deck from my paintings. I finally have a long enough list of concepts for major arcana to really start a series!
I'm also switching from traditional canvas to wood canvases; painting on them is lovely, and the material lends itself to my techniques more so than canvas.
My lovely assistant (a.k.a my husband) is also helping me to fabricate some wooden frames for these that I will Woodburn with their titles, so I'll share again when I have that done for this piece. Happy pirating!

There's a nerdy lil easter egg 🥚 in there if you can spot it 😉
✨️✨️The original 16x20 painting will be brought to this weekend, along with prints, and prints will be brought to as well.
It will also be available for blank greetings cards once I receive my shipment and get prints going (and hopefully postcards!)

FINALLY expending my print selection to include small prints and postcards! Im still hunting for a postcard paper I like (more samples coming my way) but I have definitely settled on paper for some blank greeting cards! I will be bringing the first batch to One Of A Kind Art Gallery and Harbinger Winery as soon as I have gotten a good amount made.
I am also working on expanding my sleepysirentreasureco site to include WDB prints for easier online purchasing; greeting cards and post cards will be made available there as well. So. Excited.

It's the first day of MerMay!
As an artist, I've never fully completed a mermay prompt list; it's always felt so daunting. So this year I'm going to try to complete the prompt list by combining multiple days into one instead of trying to create an image for every individual prompt.
I sold out of my coloringbooks during mermaid festival, and plan on making more, so this is a great way for me to get more pages done.
So prepare for a for a flood of mermay sketches!

And As always, support REAL artists over those who would use gen Ai, which steals from hardworking artists like myself.
