“He is not here: for he is risen” was an angelic and miraculous message 2000 years ago, and it is an angelic and miraculous message today.
As Easter Sunday is today, I would like to share a story of hope. A few years ago, my wife and her family prayed for a miracle to save her cousin who was dying from cancer. As a young mother, this cousin battled with faith.
All prayed for a miracle, but her body could not fight off the cancer and she passed away leaving a heart broken family.
With tears of intense sadness, my wife pleaded with God trying to understand why the miracle everyone had prayed for never happened. A still small voice whispered to her that the miracle had already happened 2,000 years ago. She felt strongly that she will see her cousin again because Christ had paid the price, broken the bands of death, and paved a path we could all follow to be with our loved ones again.
“He is not here: for he is risen” gives us hope that for every person we have loved and lost we might be with them again in a place far better than anything we can imagine. May you feel that hope this Easter season and always is my prayer. Happy Easter! Art Print: He is Risen, Creator: Gabriel Heaton hope

Occasionally, a mother sheep will give birth to a lamb and reject it, refusing to let it nurse.
This not only sets the lamb on a path toward starvation but also shatters its spirit. These lambs are called
“bummer lambs”-abandoned, isolated, and seemingly forgotten.
Shepherds keep a watchful eye for bummer lambs. A compassionate shepherd, spotting a bummer lamb, holds it close to their heart so it can become familiar with its heartbeat and brings it into the warmth of his home.
The lamb learns the sound of the Shepard’s voice and learns to trust him.
When the lamb is strong enough to be put back with the sheep, there is a new nobility to the lamb. It no longer feels rejected. It has been singled out by the shepherd.
And when the shepherd calls, the bummer lambs are always the first to run to him because they know his voice.
The Savior is our Good Shepherd and wants to bring us home. “The good shepherd doth call you; yea, and in his own name he doth call you, which is the name of Christ” (Alma 5:38). He loves you and wants you to follow Him.
Have you ever felt like a bummer lamb? As we come to Him for healing, we can learn the sound of His voice.
How do you hear His voice calling you?

The Atonement reaches the dark corners of painful memories.

There is no memory too heavy. No moment too broken. No chapter too shadowed.

Bring Him into your past.
Let Him illuminate it with His light, His love, and His mercy.
Like the woman at the well, nothing was hidden from Him, yet nothing stopped Him from offering living water.

Bring Him into your present.
Into your daily routine.
Into your difficult decisions.
Into your quiet crises no one else sees.

He will illuminate the next step.

And as you invite Him into yesterday and today, you will find He is already preparing your tomorrow.

He does not just redeem the past.
He walks beside you now.
And He gently leads you into a beautiful future.

This is Me.
Embraced by my Savior.

He knows my name, he knows the darkness inside of me. He shows me that I am not the darkness and requires that I release the darkness. That my soul may be restored to its proper order, better and stronger than before.

He is my physician. He is the grace I don’t deserve.
To Him I’ll praise forevermore.

One of my favorite stories of courage comes from three young men who refused to bow to the idols of their day: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Facing a fiery furnace, they said,
“Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us… but if not… we will not serve thy gods.”

Their faith wasn’t built on outcomes; it was built on devotion.

I’ve thought about that story as I’ve reflected on the fire and heartbreak in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Amid the ruins, one image pierced through the darkness: a depiction of Christ’s hand, untouched by flame.

The photograph captured an image I created, but I don’t see it as mine anymore.
In that moment, it became a quiet testimony that even through the fire, His hand remains.

Just like He did with those three young men.
Just like He still does with us.

“To give unto them beauty for ashes…” — Isaiah 61:3
“All things work together for good…” — Romans 8:28

Even in the furnace, even in the ashes, He is there.

Credit to .photo for the beautiful images she took of the aftermath with the Grand Blanc police. So grateful to her, and the story that was shared by

“Peacemaking is a Christlike attribute. Peacemakers are sometimes labeled naïve or weak-from all sides. Yet, to be a peacemaker is not to be weak—but to be strong in a way that the world may not understand.

“Peacemaking requires courage and compromise but does not require sacrifice of principle. Peacemaking is to lead with an open heart, not a closed mind. It is to approach one another with extended hands, not clenched fists.

“Peacemaking is not a new thing, hot off the press. It was taught by Jesus Christ Himself, both to those in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Peacemaking has since been taught by modern-day prophets from the earliest days of the Restoration even to this day.”

God’s grace is sufficient. Jesus’s grace is sufficient. It is enough. It is all we need. Don’t quit. Keep trying. Don’t look for escapes and excuses. Look for the Lord and His perfect strength. Don’t search for someone to blame. Search for someone to help you. Seek Christ, and, as you do, you will feel the enabling power and divine help we call His amazing grace. - Brad Wilcox

“I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God: I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick.” — Ezekiel 34:15–16

Your wounds do not disqualify you. You are the one He’s after. The Shepherd does not wait until you’ve pieced yourself back together, He binds the broken and strengthens the weary.

(“The Savior suffered ‘pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind’ so that He can comfort us, heal us, [and] rescue us in times of need.” — Russell M. Nelson (Rest in peace 🫶)

When you feel anxious, numb, or worn thin, remember: the Shepherd feeds, finds, binds, and strengthens. Always.

While in Psych NP school, I started Modern Grace Gallery as a side project. My goal was to see if I could use emerging AI tools to create Christian art that heals—for me, for those I love, and for anyone who needed hope.

The response blew me away. Your messages and stories—about how certain pieces brought comfort, peace, and healing—showed me that this wasn’t just about art. This is about His ability to heal.

That’s why I launched Valiant Psychiatry—a faith-informed psychiatric practice where your faith doesn’t have to be left at the door. My mission is the same in both art and psychiatry: to bring light, healing, and hope.

At Valiant, I specialize in helping adults in Utah facing challenges with focus, depression, anxiety, trauma, burnout, trouble sleeping, and overmedication. These are real struggles that affect mind, body, and spirit—and I believe treatment should address all three with compassion and faith.

🤍 Thank you for walking this journey with me. Follow along for posts geared more towards mental health and healing. If you’re interested in learning more about my approach, you can schedule a free consultation through my website. Link in bio.

He trudged through the summer grass, every blade whispering of the darkness he carried—“Nobody wants you”, “You are unlovable”. The false words, now beliefs weighed on his chest like an anvil, pressing him toward exhaustion. At the field’s center, he stopped and dropped to his knees, voice trembling as he confessed, “I cannot carry this anymore.”

From the fading day stepped a figure robed in light. Christ, arms open. “I know the darkness you carry,” He said softly, gathering the boy into His embrace. The child’s tears soaked into white robes as the burden relinquished, absorbed into infinite compassion. “Let me take it from you,” Christ whispered, “and in return I will replace it with the truth about who you are.” In that divine presence, the boy felt his shoulders lift, his heart burning with a quiet courage, enveloped in grace, ready to walk forward.

The word overcome in the Greek translation of the New Testament means “to struggle against,” “to prevail,” or “to gain the victory.” When John reveals Christ’s words in Revelation 21:7, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things,” He isn’t suggesting it will be easy. He knows it will be a struggle—a battle that can only be won by those who hold fast to Christ and His gospel.

Why would a loving God send us to a place of struggle? I don’t claim to have all the answers. But I do know this: anything truly worth having requires overcoming.

May you face this week’s trials with courage and faith.
Happy Wednesday!
