SU DanceWorks Founded in 1986, DanceWorks is an audition-based dance organization that is fully student run.

We have over 80 active members that come from a range of diverse backgrounds, styles, and levels of dance, but each of us are brought together by our extreme passion for the art. DanceWorks allows its members to be as involved as they wish - ranging from dancing one hour a week to being on board with opportunities for leadership and performance throughout the school year. All members rehearse through the Fall and Spring semesters to prepare for our annual spring production. Two evenings of performances not only show off our dancers talents, but the hard work and creativity of our choreographers who were chosen in the Fall. Our show incorporates all styles of dance including, but not limited to, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, ballet, tap, and contemporary.

“DanceWorks was the first organization I have heard of coming into Syracuse University, therefore, it was the first one I planned to join before I even moved in. I’ve danced my whole life and hold a strong passion for it, so I wanted to be surrounded by others who felt the same. Now that I am a part of this community, I am excited for what we can cultivate! Despite it being my first year in DanceWorks, my advice to prospective members would be to just go for it. It’s so cliche, but there was a point where I felt doubt within myself and was about to drop my plans of auditioning for DW. However, you never know what could happen, so as long as you put your best foot forward, things will fall into place for you.” 🩵🩵🩵

Makeup Auditions are TOMORROW from 10am-noon, and our choreographer showcase will be TOMORROW at 2:15. Both will be in the women’s building! It is SO important that you come to the choreographer showcase so that you can see what you would like to audition for!

It’s officially time!!!

Join us Saturday, September 12th, in the Women’s Building for auditions! We will have a group warmup starting at 8:30am, and then auditions will begin at 9am. The audition schedule will be shared on Friday! You only need to attend auditions for the dances you would like to be a part of.

For those of you unable to attend, the makeup auditions will be held Friday, September 11th, from 10am to 12pm.

We can’t wait to see you all there 🩵🌟

Our Choreographer Showcase is this Friday, 9/11, from 2:15–3:00 PM in the Women’s Building! We highly recommend coming to the shows add to get an idea of what you might want to audition for!

Auditions are on Saturday, 9/12. More info will come soon!

Can’t make it to auditions on Saturday? No worries! Makeup auditions will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM in the Women’s Building PRIOR to the choreographer showcase!
