The long weekend is within REACH, friends! We’re so close!!

You know what else is right around the corner?? PRIDE 🤩🌈🥳

We have the honor of coordinating and holding space for our Q***r Arts Community @ Caz Pride on June 18th!!

The folks running the festival are SO kind, and they’re really gearing up for this to be a STELLAR day! The only thing that would make it better is YOU!

We’re coordinating two Events! HELP US SPREAD THE WORD 💃🏽

Our Q***r Variety Show:
A series of performances that connects with each Soloist’s/Group’s experience with and/or relationship to Q***rness!

Artists of ALL disciplines are encouraged to sign up, REGARDLESS of formal training! This is ALL about Community in every shade and hue; that INCLUDES YOU! If you’re unsure let’s chat ❤️

Flash Mob....!!!??:

The year is 2007. You’re in a populated area when from out of nowhere strangers are singing and dancing and they somehow all know the dance..? FLASH MOB ✨ With interest, we’ll stage a Flash Mob that will happen during the event (MINIMAL dancing - sweet&simple) - Without interest, we’ll marry this with the closing number! ALLIES ARE MORE THAN WELCOME!

Both are incredible opportunities to try something new in a Safe, low-stakes Environment run BY Q***r folks, FOR Q***r folks!

We will have MINIMAL rehearsal! We aren’t here to waste ANYone’s time and will be swiftly organized!!

Happy Tuesday y’all!

If you’ve been keeping up with our website you may have seen our NEWEST section: ADULT CLASSES!!

1) Off-The-Radio Vocal Styles Workshop 🎤

One of Mary’s FAVORITE classes to teach, this 8-week class explores every genre of popular Music from Motown to Disco to Punk Rock! A great fit for Hobbyists looking to brush up their skills OR Actors looking to gain experience for Pop/Rock Musicals. We will discuss Music History/Pop Culture, Vocal/Physical Performance style based on genre, and maintaining vocal health in a variety of styles! This functions as a Group Voice Class! 🕺🏽

2) Music Theatre Scene Study 📝
This 4-week class will challenge students to reach their Individual Goals as we workshop popular material (songs/scenes) from the Theatre Canon in small groups/partnerships. A great way to get your feet wet without committing to a Show! 💐

Both class Day/Times will be decided collaboratively by the group; after you register we’ll reach out for your availability! Both Classes will run for 2 hours per session. As always, check out our Website for ALL the deets.

COMING SOON:
‘Wellness for Artists’ Workshop 🧑🏽‍🎨
This will function as a recurring group meeting where, guided by curriculum developed by our Team in collaboration with various Arts/Drama Therapists, we will examine unsustainable practice in various arts disciplines and pave a path forward rooted in Balance & Wellness!

Happy Friday and Welcome!! ☀️

This announcement has been a very long time in the making and we’re so excited to finally share what we’ve been working on!

The Syracuse Coalition Theatre (Coalition for short!) is a NEW Theatre Company based in Syracuse, NY that is fully dedicated to sustainable practices, both interpersonally and professionally. The Syracuse Theatre Community has been in dire need of a SAFE space to both create Theatre and educate our children without the threat of predatory behavior or exploitive practices for as long as many of us have been alive, and Coalition is committed to building the infrastructure to make this a reality. We hope to work alongside the many Arts Organizations of Syracuse to create a meaningful, collaborative shift in the culture.

We will have various offerings for both Educational and Performance Opportunities for ALL ages, as well as FREE Community Events and Workshops starting this Summer! 🌻
