We'll see you all on April 11, 2027! That's the date for our EIGHTH annual Geek/Art CONfluence, held at Goldstein Auditorium at Syracuse University.

We plan to have all the great activities you've enjoyed in the past and some new ideas too!

Look for our call for vendors and speakers in mid-fall 2026, and details on our various contests and activities in early 2027.

I (Chris) am looking forward to being on one of Ed Catto's panels at San Diego Comic Con again this year: 10am on Saturday at the San Diego Central Library!

The topic is "Student Activism Vs Student Participation"--
"In an ever-changing future that uses pop culture, comics, gaming, and more as essential learning tools, what is the best way for students to be involved? Does traditional education still work? How important is hands-on learning? There's a difference between having a seat and having a voice. Showing up is necessary, but is it sufficient? Educators who use comics, pop culture, and gaming in classrooms—including Dr. Chris Wildrick (Syracuse University), Dr. Christina Knopf (SUNY Cortland), Dr. Billy Obenauer (University of Maine), Krista Rozanski (Syracuse Libraries), Darlynne Overbaugh (First Congregational Church), and Bailey Day (Ithaca College)—discuss the challenges of teaching for an ever-changing future. Moderated by Ed Catto (Ithaca College)."

It's quite possible that I'll be using the CONfluence as an example for some of my comments :)

If you're at SDCC, come check it out! Ed always has great questions and we have a fun conversation among scholars and educators!

If you took photos at the CON, and are OK with sharing them publicly--and having us possibly use them in future promotion, for instance on our website or social media--you can share them with us here.

Just drop them in this Google Drive folder. You will have to log in to Google to drop them in. If you want us to attribute your photos to your name if we use them online, then create a subfolder with your name and drop them in there. If you don't care about that, just drop them in the main folder:

We will also be posting a folder of all of the pics taken at the cosplay photo booth, as requested by the people who had their pics taken. That will go up in the next few days.

One word says it all: THANKS

But I'll add a few more words:

The CON was a great success yesterday thanks to YOU--you the vendors, the speakers, the volunteers, and of course our many guests. I don't have an exact count yet but we clearly had more people than ever before. THANK YOU for participating and coming.

This is a work of love and it is a great joy to frankly just feel the positive vibes coming off of so many of you yesterday. That's what we're for.

We will be back next spring in March or April, on a Sunday, as always. We hope to see you then!
