These days everyone's a DJ in their heart, and that desire to shape the music is real. But not everyone needs the decks. Everyone deserves a say.

That's why we're building BeatQuest: the crowd influences the soundtrack in real time, and the DJ still runs the night.

The dance floor is the last passive room.

Everywhere else, we stopped watching. We vote on what we see, comment in real time, bid on what we want, and customize everything we buy.

Then we walk into a club and go back to standing, dancing, and buying drinks.

I think that's about to change. The next generation of nightlife won't hand the crowd control of the artist. It will let the crowd create with the artist.

That shift opens a new layer of engagement for fans, a new kind of connection for DJs, and a new revenue model for venues.

The crowd becomes part of the set.

What if the soundtrack of your life started before you were even born?

Last night, watching High and Dry perform, I remembered the story my mom told me about the day I was born: my parents were young, broke, sharing a house with musicians in Brazil… and a band was rehearsing there that entire day.

Maybe some passions don’t find you. They’ve been with you from the beginning. Have you ever asked your mom what the day you were born was like?

Thank you High and Dry for such an incredible night — you were amazing. And of course, Pixie stole hearts… as always.

People are drinking less, but they’re not necessarily going out less.

That creates an interesting opportunity for nightlife.

If venues can generate more revenue through interaction, entertainment, and participation, the night becomes more valuable for everyone.
